The Third Generation Physical Fitness Test is administered to all students at Wamogo. The test includes four components: the mile run/walk or PACER test, curl-up, 90 degree push up, and sit and reach. The test must be administered by a certified Physical Education Teacher. Students are evaluated based on norms for their age group. They are then rated in the "I" Needs Improvement Zone, "F" Health Fitness Zone or "H" or High Fitness Zone.
Each test is designed to measure a different aspect of a student's fitness level. This year the norms have been adjusted to a more realistic level for the "F" or Health Fitness Zone. Once students have completed all four components of the test they will be asked to formulate a personal fitness plan to work on those areas that are not in the "F" zone as well as ways to achieve or maintain the "H" zone.
The test will be administered several times throughout the school year. This is done to see if our students have made progress towards their goals, as well as the goals set by the Physical Education Teachers. You may click the button below to view the test Standards.
